How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home (US / EU / CN Chart)

Method 1: measure the circumference with paper or string

Cut a thin strip of paper or a piece of string, wrap it snugly around the base of the finger, mark where it overlaps, then lay it flat and measure the millimeters — that's your finger circumference. Match it to the chart below. Aim for snug but comfortable: it should slide over the knuckle yet not fly off when you shake your hand.

Method 2: measure an existing ring's inner diameter

Take a ring that already fits well, measure its inner diameter in millimeters, and multiply by 3.14 to get the circumference — then read the chart. This is the easiest method and the best way to size someone else's finger discreetly.

I'm between two sizes — round up or down?

Round up. A ring that's too small gets stuck at the knuckle, while a slightly large one can be adjusted with a sizer insert. For wide bands, go up one more size — they wear tighter than thin ones.

When is the most accurate time to measure?

Measure in the late afternoon at normal body temperature. Fingers swell and shrink through the day — cold weather, exercise and salty food all shift the number. Avoid measuring when hands are very cold or hot, and take the middle of two or three readings.
